James Peacock Infant & Nursery School
Welcome to our Peacock Club which has been designed to bridge the gap for parents whose work or study commitments mean they need more than a school/ nursery place for their child.
Our aim is to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment for your child to attend whilst they are not in their usual school or nursery classroom.
Peacock Club is located within the nursery building and is signposted from the nursery path at the front of school.
Our club is available Monday to Friday term time only.

You will also see lots of other adults who work in Peacock Club every day.
We open at 7.30am.
Your child will be offered a nutritious breakfast including juice, yoghurt, fruit, cereals, pancakes, croissants or toast. We also have ‘specials’ occasionally including bacon or sausage cobs.
The children will be given the opportunity to enjoy various activities should they wish to.
At the end of this session your child will be safely escorted to their relevant classrooms/nursery.
After School sessions start from 3.10pm until 6.00pm.
Your child will be collected at the end of their school/nursery day by a member of the Peacock Club staff.
The children will have a drink and a snack which will fill a gap before they go home to have their evening meal with you.
The club provides a range of activities to suit the feelings of the children as they end their school/nursery day. Some may wish to have a quiet space, some to get busy making something, others to chat and play a game with friends. The children can free-flow between the outside and the inside space.
The club is separated into KS1 and EYFS pupils but the children can be collected from the same place as the rooms are next to each other.
To ensure the safety of all children you must sign your child into breakfast and out of after school facilities.
For NURSERY children:
All children have a 15 hour nursery placement. In addition to this, we offer an additional 15 hours which are FREE to eligible parents or may be taken as a paid facility.
Morning sessions run from 8.30-11.30am and afternoon sessions run from 12.30-3.30pm. The additional 15 hours are added after your nursery placement in the morning.
Please note: breakfast and after school facilities are independent to any additional hours entitlements.
The children are also offered a healthy snack in the morning and afternoon as well as milk.

If you are eligible then you will need to provide school with the 15 digit code which we then need to verify. More information about this is available from the school.
This runs from 11.30-12.30pm and bridges the gap between morning and afternoon nursery sessions.
Parents must provide a healthy packed lunch and the children will be supervised by a team of midday supervisors. They will ensure that the children are helped in opening packets and encouraged to eat as much as possible. If your child is a poor eater we will support them and keep a diary if this would be helpful. The children put all unfinished food and packaging back into their lunch boxes so you can clearly see what they have eaten!
A booking form is required to be completed EVERY HALF TERM.
Booking forms will be available on the website and we will send a notification when a new form needs to be completed.
A booking form, along with advanced payment, guarantees your child a place.
Whilst we will always endeavour to accommodate last minute requests for places, demand is high and we do get close to capacity on some days!

Our preferred payment method is electronically by Childcare Vouchers, Tax-Free Childcare accounts or on-line using our ParentPay system.
Please calculate the total amount owing for the sessions booked and process your payment at the same time as you return the booking form to us.
We recommend that you keep a record of your bookings and amount payable.
To ensure correct staffing ratios and provide fair and equal opportunity to access places, we are unable to refund missed sessions other than in exceptional circumstances.
