At James Peacock Infant and Nursery School, we have a spacious 60 place Nursery unit and offer intakes in September and January (if there are still available places).
Our nursery team are friendly and experienced early years practitioners, who are passionate about providing a rich and exciting pre-school experience for our children. A full-time qualified class teacher works within our nursery unit and is responsible for the planning, teaching and learning which links directly with our reception curriculum. The unit and curriculum is overseen by our EYFS Lead. This enables us to provide a smooth transition for our children who will be continuing their educational journey at James Peacock.
Our Curriculum All Early Years classes follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Framework 2021, which is delivered through 7 areas of learning:
Communication and Language
Physical Development
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts & Design
Detailed curriculum maps are shared with parents via Dojo at the start of each new topic.
Each area of learning has Early Learning Goals (17 in total), which are the standards that a child is expected to achieve by the end of the Foundation Stage.
Please see below the Nursery handbook for 2024-2025, which contains all of the information you should need for the academic year. For any nursery queries, please contact Mrs Gajree, our Admissions Lead via the school office who will be happy to help.
